Whitney Houston had just finished shooting a remake of the movie "Sparkle" before she died -- and now, one of her co-stars is speaking out about her death.
"American Idol" Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks plays Whitney's daughter in the film, something she says was just surreal.
"It was one of the most amazing things," Sparks told the crowd at the 5th Annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon. "I'm thinking, this is Whitney, I watched her my entire life and she's scolding me, this is the best day ever."

Sparks also paid tribute by singing a song from the flick called "Look Into Your Heart."
"Sparkle" is set for an August 17 release date.
