"Glee" has honored various artists with special tribute episodes, including shows dedicated to Madonna, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Michael Jackson.
Tonight, the kids of McKinley High take on what may be their most timely and emotional tribute -- an hour dedicated to the legendary Whitney Houston.
As the "Glee" seniors start coming to terms with their imminent graduation, they express their fear and anxiety -- and sadness over the loss of the music icon -- by celebrating Whitney's music.
"Whitney Houston meant the world to me," Chris Colfer ("Kurt") told TheInsider.com. "I was devastated when she passed away, but what a way to honor her and sing her music. I just pray the episode turns out alright."
He added, "All the characters are having as hard a time saying goodbye to Whitney as they are to each other."
There are seven Whitney songs included in the special tribute episode, including "I Wanna Dance with Somebody," "I Have Nothing" and an a capella version of "How Will I Know," performed by Amber Riley ("Mercedes"), Lea Michele ("Rachel"), Naya Rivera ("Santana") and Chris. Check out that full, emotional performance, above!
One Whitney song noticeably absent from the tribute is "I Will Always Love You," though Gleeks can recall the eerie timing of Amber performing the number in the episode that aired just three days after Whitney's death.
