On July 1, 1992 -- twenty years ago today -- "A League of Their Own" first landed in theaters.
Starring Geena Davis, Tom Hanks, Madonna, Rosie O'Donnell and Lori Petty, the movie was inspired by the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League ... and told the story of two sisters torn apart over their love of the game.
While a TV series based on the movie was quickly canceled, the movie still lives on thanks to its great performances by the cast and the line "There's no crying in baseball" -- which was named as one of the American Film Institute's Top 100 movie quotes of all time.
