Chris Hemsworth and all those muscles of his are back in a superhero suit -- as "Thor: The Dark World" has started filming in England.
The "Avengers" star and Jaimie Alexander, who plays Asgardian warrior "Sif," were both spotted on set yesterday battling an army of creatures. According to Internet rumblings, the creatures could be the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim.
Little is know about the new film, except that Chris, Jaimie, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) are all expected to return. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Mr. Ekko from "Lost") and Christopher Eccleston have also joined the cast as Algrim the Strong and Malekith the Accursed, respectively.
We also know the release date: November 8, 2013.
After "The Dark World," Chris will don is armor once again alongside the rest of the Avengers in a sequel due out May 1, 2015.
"The creation of the team is not the happy ending," writer/director Joss Whedon says of the storyline in an interview with 24 Hours. "It is the beginning of something that is complex and difficult, and now I get to dig a little deeper. And maybe, while I'm digging, just twist that knife. And that's exciting for me."
In other "Avengers" sequel news, Gwyneth Paltrow hinted that she may not return for another go-around as Pepper Potts in the superhero-packed flick.
"I don't know," she told E! News at the Toronto Film Festival. "I'm getting old for this s**t, you know what I mean?"
