Larry Birkhead has been getting some flack for allowing his 6-year-old daughter with Anna Nicole Smith model for GUESS Kids -- but he stands firmly behind his decision.
Today on "Good Morning America," Birkhead explained why Dannielynn Birkhead is following in her late mother's footsteps.
"Dannielynn has always looked up to her mom and said that her mom's an angel," says Larry. "I think that this is kind of Dannielynn's way of paying tribute to her mom in her own special way."
"This may be her only connection to her mom," he added.
Anna Nicole died when Dannielynn was only five months old.
