The first full trailer for "Man of Steel" is here -- and it's equal parts "Dark Knight" and "The Avengers."
Starring Henry Cavill as Superman, the flick introduces us to a darker, moodier and beardier Clark Kent. Call it the Batman Effect.
In the new footage from the movie, we see Clark as a young boy ... but it soon becomes clear he's a little different than the other kids in Smallville.
We then see shots of shirtless Cavill covered in fire, Clark wandering icy terrain (probably the Fortress of Solitude) in full costume and Superman breaking the sound barrier as he takes flight.
We also get a much better look at Michael Shannon's villain character, rumored to be General Zod.
The attack scenes in Metropolis feature major destruction by alien spaceships ... something familiar to anyone who saw "The Avengers" over the summer.
And with "Man of Steel," Warner Bros. is hoping to launch a superhero team of their own: The Justice League.
DC's band of heroes are set to hit the big screen in 2015.
