"Scream & Shout" sounds unlike any song Britney Spears has done in the past ... and, according to Eve, that might be because she's not actually singing in it.
The rapper threw some shade Britney's way this week on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" when host Andy Cohen asked Eve what she thought of Spears' song with will.i.am.
"I heard that might not be Britney," Eve said with a sly smile. "That's what I heard, but you know, I don't know ... it could be Britney. But I heard it wasn't."
She played it coy, but Eve definitely looked like she may have some insider info on the topic.

UPDATE: Britney Spears' rep Jeff Raymond told our sister site TMZ that the claim is "absolute BS. Britney sang the song. Will.i.am wanted her for this song and she sang on it."
