Before the CW, there was The WB.
The network's stable of teen-targeted shows included "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Dawson's Creek," "Charmed" and a comedic gem titled "Popular" from a then-unknown producer named Ryan Murphy.
"Popular" only lasted two seasons, but it gained a cult following. Many of its actors went onto other TV roles (mostly on ABC): Leslie Bibb (Brooke) starred in "GCB," Sara Rue (Carmen) in "Less Than Perfect," and Christopher Gorham (Harrison) on "Ugly Betty." Carly Pope (Sam) had a memorable stint on "24."
The cast reunited at the PaleyFest Icon Award last night in Beverly Hills, where Ryan Murphy was honored for his work in television. Stars from Ryan's current shows, including "Glee," "American Horror Story" and "The New Normal" were also in attendance to fete the prolific producer. Presented exclusively by Samsung Galaxy, the evening gave attendees the chance to check out the latest offerings from the brand including the Samsung Galaxy Note II, Samsung Galaxy Camera and more.
