"The X Factor" has become better known for its casting changes than its champions, but there will be at least one familiar face returning for Season 3.
On Thursday, Demi Lovato confirmed she will be returning to the singing competition. As previously reported, judges Britney Spears and L.A. Reid will not be returning.
"I am so excited to return as a judge and mentor on 'The X Factor,'” the pop star said in a statement. "Last season was an unbelievable experience and I really enjoyed developing personal relationships with the contestants and the panel. I look forward to taking my previous experience and applying it to make this season even better!"
Show creator and fellow judge Simon Cowell echoed the sentiment, in his usual biting manner. "I couldn't be happier that Demi wants to come back this year," he wrote. "She's a superstar in her own right and was a fantastic mentor last year. Even though she can be really, really annoying -- I truly enjoyed working with her and so did the artists. I'm especially pleased she's back even during her world tour!"
Earlier this year, Demi told Cosmo on Campus that diving back into work "wasn't the best idea" so quickly after coming out of rehab. With a hit single and world tour, the 20-year-old will definitely be pulled in many directions.
What do you think Demi fans? Do you think it's a good move, or are you having a "heart attack" over it?
