October may be prime horror movie season, but this year there are a ton of freaky flicks hitting theaters long before Halloween.
With "Evil Dead" opening this week, movie studios have released a couple new trailers to play before the remake ... and they're both incredibly creepy.
First up: "The Conjuring"
As if the teaser wasn't scary enough, a new, full trailer for the movie was just released. Focusing on a pair of paranormal investigators (played by Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson) looking into the real-life haunting of the Perron family in Rhode Island.
toofab's Brian Particelli spoke to members of Perron family at WonderCon over the weekend -- where they gave the movie their seal of approval.
"Despite having to relive some horrific events that happened to us in that home, the movie was excellent," Cindy Perron tells toofab.
Find out for yourself when the movie opens July 19.
Hitting theaters even earlier is Universal's "The Purge," which comes from the producer of "Paranormal Activity" and "Sinister."
The movie takes place in a world where, one night a year, the government sanctions a 12-hour period where all crimes become legal ... including murder.
One family who finds itself running from masked maniacs when they let a stranger inside their home.
The movie stars Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey ("Game of Thrones") and opens May 31.
Not enough horror for you? Check back tomorrow -- a new "Carrie" trailer is set to debut online on Thursday!
