With temperatures rising, this is the perfect time of year for a trip.
toofab caught up with "The Today Show" Style Editor Bobbie Thomas, who shared with us how to score a great getaway and pack for it! Here are some of her essentials:
1. Cover-up
A cover-up is so versatile. Not only does it provide protection, but a couple different looks as well. Pair it with a pair of shorts and a wedge and you can go from the beach and go to shop or dinner. Or pair it with leggings and a sandal.
Special tip: Check out the swim section first. Cover-ups function like a maxi dress but often cost much less!
2. Scarves
Scarves are my saving grace. They're so easy to pack. You can protect your shoulders from the sun. And they can double as a headwrap.
Special tip: Tie some knots in a scarf and you have a necklace.
3. Shoes that match your skin tone
If a shoe matches your skin tone, it will go with everything. You don't have to pack multiple pairs.
Special tip: Pack a shoe that goes from day to night, like a chic sandal.
4. Hats
I always throw a floppy hat into my bag. It's block out the sun and it's great for the sun and you don't have to worry about your hair!
Special tip: Make sure the weave is tight otherwise you'll burn your head
5. The perfect swimsuit
I love this site Kinimatic. You can upload a photo of yourself and see how different swimsuits look on you. You can also create your own prints for bikinis (and board shorts for your man).
Special tip: You'll feel even more confident knowing you're wearing a one-of-a-kind look.
So now you know what to bring, but where should you go?
Bobbie recommends you check out the Hilton HHonors Program. With 10 brands and 3,900 hotels worldwide -- ranging from budget hotels to luxury resorts -- there's something for every traveler.
Special tip: The Hilton HHonors Program has a current promotion where you can receive the 5th night free at a participating resort. Be sure to book by April 30th to take advantage of this great deal. More details here.
