"Vampire Diaries" costars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have broken up, multiple sources have confirmed.
Dobrev, 24 and Somerhalder, 34, first went public with their relationship in 2011. They play the off/on lovers Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore on the hit CW show.
A source told Us Weekly that the two are "consummate professionals" and "will continue to work together and remain best friends, which is where the relationship started."
Reports of their split surfaced several weeks ago, when Nina was seen spending time vacationing with gal pal Julianne Hough, who herself recently broke up with Ryan Seacrest.
