She may not have won "American Idol," but Kellie Pickler is the new "Dancing With the Stars" champion!
The country singer and her professional partner, Derek Hough, won the Mirror Ball trophy in a closely fought battle with teen star Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy.
"This is amazing," Kellie exclaimed when the results were read. Zendaya was a gracious runner-up. "I'm very proud. I'm very happy," the "Shake It Up" star said. "I get to leave here with an amazing experience, so I'm happy."
Early on in the evening, Olympian Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas were eliminated, followed by NFL player Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff.
The top two couples earned perfect 30s for their dances on Monday performance night, and again on Tuesday's finale.
With his win, Derek becomes the most successful pro, with four titles under his belt (he previously won with Brooke Burke, Nicole Scherzinger, and Jennifer Grey).
There are major changes coming next season. Due to struggling ratings, "DWTS" will be cut down to just one show a week, with the elimination being part of the performance night.
