Everyone's favorite elven archer is back!
Orlando Bloom reprises his role as Legolas in "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug," and he's seeing tons of action in the just-released trailer -- putting his bow to good use against goblins.
He's joined by fellow elven warriors Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly from "Lost") and Thranduil (Lee Pace), who encounter Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) and his band of dwarves on their quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor and battle the dragon Smaug.
He's not the first "Lord of the Rings" character with a role in this origin trilogy, as Gandalf (Ian McKellen), Elrond (Hugo Weaving) and of course Gollum (Andy Serkis) return.
While "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" was criticized for its pacing, the sequel looks to be filled with action. Check it out below:
"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" opens in in High Frame Rate 3D (HFR 3D), other 2D and 3D formats, and IMAX in select theaters on December 13, 2013.
