Damn the man, save the Empire!
In 1995, "Empire Records" was released to little-to-no fanfare -- but quickly found a cult following on VHS and DVD.
The movie starred a bunch of then-unknowns, including birthday girl Liv Tyler, Renee Zellweger, Robin Tunney and Ethan Embry, who would all go on to find success in much bigger projects.
Liv, who turns 36 today, was just coming off of the "Crazy" music video for her dad Steven Tyler's band, Aerosmith -- and the movie marked her first lead role in a feature film.
"We had a ball," Tyler said of filming the movie during a 2008 interview with Entertainment Weekly. "It was heaven. It was just the highlight of my whole youth. We all lived on Myrtle Beach in South Carolina in these little condos on the beach. We had more fun off camera than we had on camera."
