And now, two new divas are competing for pop music popularity, as Lady Gaga and Katy Perry both just released brand new music.
But whose song will you have on repeat... and which could you do without?
While Gaga was hoping to release her single "Applause" the day after the MTV Video Music Awards, it leaked over the weekend. The move prompted her to push up her timeline a bit -- and release it today instead.
"DUE TO HACKERS AN ABUNDANCE OF LOW/HIGH QUALITY LEAKS...WE ISSUE THIS POP MUSIC EMERGENCY...MONSTERS SPREAD THE WORD," she posted on her Facebook page.
Check out the song above. It's definitely a club banger.
Kerry's new tune, "Roar," also came out over the weekend.
The song is very poppy and anthemic, but not quite as dark as we were expecting after those gothic YouTube videos she made promoting her upcoming album.
