When Kate Upton first hit the modeling scene, she was criticized for being too buxom for high fashion.
And while she was a natural (and snug) fit for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, she also graced the front of Vogue, Vogue Italia, British Vogue and French Elle.
The 21-year-old just landed perhaps her highest profile cover to date -- the 100th Anniversary issue of Vanity Fair.
Photographed by Annie Leibovitz, Kate poses provocatively in a sexy satin top that shows off her considerable cleavage.
In the issue, which is available nationally on September 10, Kate reveals she's fought even more criticism, retelling one incident to Jim Windolf:
"I'm not going to name names, but one agency told me, 'You're too American, and everybody knows American women are lazy.' I was so offended! I've never been so offended! I was like, 'You know that you're in America, right?' And it wasn't 'American models' -- it was 'American women are lazy,' period! I feel like a lot of women would disagree with that. A lot!"
Kate must be doing something right ... she was just named "Model of the Year."
