Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence have worked together for years, and no one was more surprised than he was when she revealed her past drug use in her new tell-all.
"I experimented with weed, Ecstasy, mushrooms and mescaline for about a year and a half," Melissa told Life & Style when promoting her biography, titled "Melissa Explains It All."
toofab's Lawrence Yee caught up with her "Melissa & Joey" costar at the 3rd Annual American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards on Saturday.
Joey shared his reaction with toofab exclusively:
"Everybody makes mistakes," Joey said understandingly. "Everybody does things that are foolish when they're young."
"My bad choices in life; I'm glad I was able to keep them in my past," he added.
And while Melissa dabbled in drugs, Joey's "bad choices" didn't include drugs.
"I never did drugs. I never got into that whole scene. I threw back my fair share of beer, wine and vodka Red Bulls, but I never did the bad stuff," the 37-year-old told OK! Magazine. "I was always an athlete ... And I didn't want to do that to my body. I don't know why, I was just scared that something bad would happen. I didn't want to die."
