Joey McIntyre is #BostonStrong.
The New Kids on the Block singer completed the 2014 Boston Marathon, running 26 miles in 3 hours and 40 minutes, and placing 1,4794th.
The Massachusetts native took to his Tumblr blog on Sunday to share his appreciation for the Boston area.
"I had the most special day today in Boston. I sat on a bench on Comm Ave and watched the blossoms sway in the cool spring breeze. I road around the old neighborhood. Every little bit made my heart grow bigger," he wrote.
"I realized today that coming home isn't necessarily relaxing- I'm instantly filled with many emotions- it's like I'm reborn every time I'm here. In the sense that I'm shocked to life. Again my heart starts beating. It's on an animalistic level. And it just got weird :) but it at a deep natural level."
The 41-year-old also tweeted his excitement on Monday, posting "Here we go!!!," with a selfie before starting the race.
Fellow NKOTB star Danny Wood also ran this year, placing 15288 overall with a time of 3:57:45.
Last year, tragedy struck the annual event when two pressure cooker bombs exploded during the race, killing three people and injuring hundreds. But it's pretty amazing to see how the city, its people and runners like Joey turned out in droves in 2014, stronger than ever.
