Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson's two replacements have just been announced for the second season of "True Detective" ... and nope, neither of them are women.
Despite some hope that the Season Two would revolve around a pair of female detectives, Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn will officially star ... though it sounds like at least two more lead roles still need to be filled.
According to HBO, the new season will follow three police officers and a career criminal as they "navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder."
Colin will play Ray Velcoro, "a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him."
Vince joins as Frank Semyon, "a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner."
The first two episodes will be directed by Justin Lin ("Fast & Furious") and the series will once again be written by Nic Pizzolatto.
