What a beautiful bride and groom!
George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin said "I Do" over the weekend in Venice, Italy, and we're getting our first look at the lavish ceremony courtesy People and Britain's Hello! magazine.
The newlyweds are featured on the front cover of both mags, posing together after their star-studded ceremony at the Aman Canal Grande hotel. Vogue also got an inside look at the bride's dress fitting.
The actor looked dapper in a Georgio Armani black tuxedo, while his blushing bride stole the spotlight in a floor-length white Oscar de la Renta lace wedding gown, which featured hand-embroidered pearl and diamanté accents, an off-the-shoulder neckline and a full circular train.
"George and I wanted a wedding that was romantic and elegant, and I can't imagine anyone more able than Oscar to capture this mood in a dress," the British lawyer told Vogue during a fitting. "Meeting him made the design process all the more magical, as he is so warm and such a gentleman."
"It's the most important dress in the life of a woman," de la Renta said. "Any girl from any walk of life dreams of that special dress, and I try to make that dream a reality for her."
Not only did Amal get to wear her dream dress, but her mother, Baria, called the wedding "legendary."
"George and Amal radiated love all night," Alamuddin's mother told People. "The wedding was so unbelievably special, it was legendary. These three days – the friends, the families, the atmosphere, everything – will stay with me all the rest of my life."
Baria also revealed some of her wedding night speech. "I said, 'George, we love you truly, deeply and sincerely. We enjoy your charm, your wit, intelligent conversation and generosity. You are simply perfect.'"
Clooney's father, Nick, also spoke, saying, "George and Amal present us with ...belief that in this place and at this moment, love is alive and well."
"My verdict on being Mr. and Mrs. Clooney? It feels pretty damn great," he told Hello!
The actor revealed that all the guests received iPods with playlists curated by the couple ... and a few massive "hangovers."
