Agent Cooper is returning for more "Damn good coffee."
Showtime just announced they're bringing back David Lynch's twisted and bizarre murder mystery from 1990, "Twin Peaks." The director teased the announcement over the weekend, but the network just confirmed the news by posting a fittingly weird trailer for the new series.
The teaser reveals very little, simply showing Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) snapping before a slow zoom on the "Welcome to Twin Peaks" sign. The words "25 years Later" and "2016" also flash on the screen before the Showtime logo pops up.
The new, nine-episode season will reportedly go into production in 2015 and air in 2016, the 25th anniversary of the original's finale. Kyle MacLachlan is in talks to once again star as FBI Agent Dale Cooper and the show will be a continuation of '90s cult classic.
The original show, which ran for just two seasons, followed Cooper as he tried to solve the murder of Laura Palmer ... whose body was found wrapped in plastic in the pilot episode. The show would go on to introduce fans to people like Log Lady, The Man from Another Place, an evil demon named BOB and a sexy schoolgirl named Audrey Horne.
But what have the show's stars been up to in the past 25 years?
MacLachlan has had no shortage of great roles, with memorable arcs on shows like "Desperate Housewives," "Sex and the City," "Portlandia" and the short-lived 2014 series "Believe."
Lara Flynn Boyle would later star in "Wayne's World," "Men In Black II," "The Practice" and "Las Vegas," before slowly retreating from the spotlight. Most recently, she's attracted a lot of attention for her appearance -- though people close to her said she was merely the victim of "a few bad photo angles."
And Sherilynn Fenn went on to star in the film adaptation of "Of Mice and Men," a string of TV movies including the recent "Brittany Murphy Story" on Lifetime, "Gilmore Girls" and "Ray Donovan."
