Taylor Swift is an independent woman!
The "Shake It Off" singer covers PEOPLE magazine's 40th anniversary issue, where she opens up about loving her single status.
"The last couple of years have been about defining life on my own terms," she tells the mag.
Swift has spent the last year or so out of the dating scene and making her family and friends her main priority.
"Being on my own, prioritizing my girlfriends, my family and my music above everything else and trying things I never thought I'd try," Taylor tells the mag of her recent life changes. "It's really been a liberating and freeing time."
The "Begin Again" singer also says that she's been trying to avoid the constant tabloid fodder about her boyfriends and breakups, and just focus on finding herself and her career.
"I made the decision to spend time on my own and figure out who I am," she explains.
"When you take the other person out of the scenario and you're walking through life on your own, you end up figuring out what you actually like without anyone else's input."
While the blonde beauty isn't throwing in the towel when it comes to finding love, she's not worried about meeting Mr. Right right now.
"I'm not too worried about whether I meet someone," she confesses. "I'm going to be happy either way."
We're loving this independent side of the "Red" singer -- what do you think about the 24-year-old's candid comments?
