George Clooney just won New York Comic-Con for the day.
The actor took time out of his honeymoon for a surprise appearance at the annual convention, where he debuted the first trailer for his upcoming Disney flick "Tomorrowland."
The filmmakers have been very hush-hush about the highly-anticipated film so far, but today we were not only given the first footage, but also a full synopsis.
Inspired by one of the world's at the Walt's theme park, the Brad Bird-directed film costars Britt Robertson, Hugh Laurie and Tim McGraw. According to Disney, the film follows "former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity" as they "embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as 'Tomorrowland.'"
The trailer revolves around a mysterious pin ... one that Disney will likely make a killing selling in parks after the film's release. Check out the footage above.
During the Disney panel on Thursday, Clooney joked that there's a reason he hasn't been to the convention in a while.
"Since my Batman, I was disinvited from Comic-Con for about 15 years, sorry about the nipples on the suit," he joked, referencing his turn as the caped crusader in "Batman & Robin." Clooney also said he ran into Adam West backstage and apologized for tarnishing the Dark Knight brand.
Luckily, it looks like Clooney's got a great film on his hands this time around. "Tomorrowland" hits theaters May 22, 2015.
