Despite going through a very public split with Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon says life hasn't changed for their 4-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
"They love mommy, they love daddy," he says in an upcoming appearance on "The Meredith Vieira Show." "We have always been people who have been on the go coming and going, their life hasn't changed one bit. We spend holidays together, we do everything that we are supposed to do together as a family."
The "America's Got Talent" host admits it's not easy dealing with personal issues in the public eye.
"The media, they can say whatever they want to say and obviously, because you are not giving them anything, so they kind of create all these stories and make it worse than it actually is," he explains.
The 34-year-old actor also clears up one rumor suggesting he and his wife were feuding over their eight dogs.
"Its the Jack Russell puppy dispute," he says. "They just make up all of these things. It's truly just staying focused on family and what's right and getting through these times and doing what's right for the kids, so that's just where we are."
Cannon also admits he is in the process of getting his huge "Mariah" tattoo changed into something else.
"It's like a whole work of art, my entire back and my arm and everything," he explains. "I was leaving the gym going into the studio just having had that work done and they [the paparazzi] got me. It's going to be a big reveal, but it's not finished, it's half-way done. It's a lot of pain." Check out the video above to hear Nick's tattoo advice for Meredith!
