Chris "CT" Tamburello has been open about his commitment to ex-girlfriend Diem Brown -- and it seems the MTV star proposed to her just five days before her death.
"The Challenge" alum dated Diem on-and-off for years -- and Brown tragically lost her life to cancer on Nov. 14.
A source close to Brown told Us Weekly that Tamburello popped the question at NYU Langone Medical Center, presenting her with a ruby ring and a GoPro video camera.
"He proposed and filmed the entire thing," the insider told the mag. "Diem joked that she hated rubies and said no."
CT even returned the following day with a new ring and proposed again, but Brown declined. "Diem knew she didn't have much longer to live," the source explained. "She didn't want to be engaged under those circumstances."
Chris took to Instagram last week to share a photo of Diem with the ruby engagement ring, writing, "You have always been My Angel. And now you have your wings. We've been thru so much over the years. Thru the ups and downs we somehow managed to keep our promise. We never gave up on each other."
"Our plan to be together forever hasn't changed... it's just going to take a little longer now," his statement continued. "And I'm going to hold onto this ring for you till we are together again. So don't worry mama, I'm not afraid. I know you will always be with me to give me your strength. You are The Love of My Life. My reason to be a better man. I Love You Always and Forever."
Diem's funeral was held last week in NYC and was reportedly attended by Evan Starkman, Kenny Santucci, Mark Long, Johanna Botta, Ace Amerson, Paula Meronek, KellyAnne Judd, Ruthie Alcaide, Aneesa Ferriera, Laurel Stuckey, Cara Maria Sorbello and Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio.
Carrie Ainsworth, one of Brown's closest friends, shared the video shown at her memorial online. "We'll always remember her fun spirit, her infectious smile, her love, her inspiration, how she dances through life and lived it to the fullest. We love you," a message in the video read.
