It hasn't always been easy for Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama … and she wouldn't have it any other way.
The "Skyscraper" singer is opening up about her personal issues with sobriety and how they affected her relationship with her longtime boyfriend.
"There were some moments when it was off and on when I was struggling with my issues," she admits during an interview with Sydney's "The Kyle and Jackie O" show in Australia. "What he would do is he wouldn't enable me so he'd say, 'I can't be around if you're not going to get your stuff together.'"
"It made me fight for it. He's a very, very good guy," Demi continues.
Lovato, who has battled an eating disorder as well as drug and alcohol addiction, has been sober for three years. The pop star has very open about both her struggles and her love for the "'70s Show" star.
Just last week, the 22-year-old singer posted a sweet flashback photo (at the top) of herself and her beau on Instagram.
"#FBF to 4 ½ years ago and yet all this time later…I still cry when I leave him for tour and I still get butterflies just thinking about him. You're magical Wilmer…I love and miss you,” the singer gushed.
We're so happy to see that the pair is in such a great place!
