Matt Damon is shedding some light on friend Ben Affleck's split from Jennifer Garner.
The famous pals posed together on the red carpet at the premiere of HBO's "Project Greenlight" -- which the actors executive produce together -- on Monday night at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles.
The "Batman v. Superman" star did not do any press at the event, but he did briefly pose for photographers. The actor's wedding ring was still very visible.
Ben's 44-year-old former "Good Will Hunting" costar spoke out on the carpet, revealing how his longtime BFF is doing post split!
"He's great. He's great," the Oscar winning actor told Yahoo! Movies. "He's got a big smile on his face tonight."
The star even joked about his buddy's upcoming birthday on Saturday.
"I wish him well you know, but he's 43," he teased. "It's not 40. It's not 45. It's like 43. You know it's a forgettable birthday. I don't even remember my 43rd birthday."
This is only the second public appearance the 42-year-old has made since announcing his split from his wife of 10 years back in June. The couple share children Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and son Samuel,3.
