If you thought Selena Gomez was a little crazy in her music video for "Hands to Myself," that's exactly what she was going for.
In case you missed it, the singer is seen entering a gorgeous Hollywood Hills home and seductively stripping off a robe to reveal high-waisted underwear and a black bra underneath. In the video, we find out that the brunette bombshell sneaks into the mansion, which happens to be the digs of her super hot celebrity obsession, played by Christopher Mason.
"I wanted the idea to feel like it was two different versions of being in this fantasy," she explained in a behind-the-scenes video released Wednesday. "I think everybody can have those moments where they're dreaming about what their life could be, especially girls with love. Being obsessed with the idea, and you can't control yourself because that's what you want, no matter what's happening."
The former Disney star perfectly portrays the unhinged lover, playing out a fantasy in her head that eventually comes crashing down when her "psychotic" character comes out of her "completely delusional state."
"You get to see these images of what people think love is," she added. "It's theatrical, it's movie-like. And all that you end up seeing ends up being this false reality on both ends. That's what I wanted it to feel like."
"Hands to Myself" is already on repeat on our playlist, and Selena called it a "hidden gem kind of song."
"It's very beautiful and special and it's got this funk to it that really created this whole sound that I feel like could knock me into the future of my music," she declared.
