It was a very big night for Kesha.
All eyes were on the pop star when she took the stage for the 2016 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday.
Though it was reported Kesha -- who's been in a legal battle with her producer Dr. Luke for alleged sexual and emotional abuse -- was originally planning to use the platform to make a statement against the music mogul, she instead took the moment to pay tribute to "one of her favorite artists of all time."
This, reportedly, happened after Sony got wind of Kesha's plans to address her legal battle with Dr. Luke and canceled her appearance. The performance was later re-instated.
"Kesha's performance on the Billboard Music Awards was always approved, in good faith," read a statement from Kemosabe Records. "Approval was only suspended when Kemosabe learned Kesha was to use the performance as a platform to discuss the litigation. Now that Kemosabe has obtained assurances that it is relying upon from Kesha, her representatives and Dick Clark Productions that neither Kesha nor her supporters will use the performance as such a platform, the approval has been restored."
Despite all the drama leading up to her performance, Kesha stole the spotlight at the award show where she put on an emotional rendition of Dylan's classic "It Ain't Me Babe." It was truly a lovely performance.
Before taking the stage, the "Die Young" singer hit the red carpet rocking a sparkly pantsuit with her blonde hair styled in messy waves. It also looked like the 29-year-old was in great spirits as she smiled for photographers before heading into the show.
It's great to see Kesha back in the spotlight doing what she does best!
