We're getting an extremely personal look into Jamie Lynn Spears' world -- and man, is it rough.
The former child star is teaming up with TLC for a new special titled, "Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out," a one-hour event that will allow her to tell "her side of her story."
Touching on her now-infamous teen pregnancy, retreat from the public eye and subsequent return to music, the special will also include interviews with her parents, Jamie and Lynn Spears, and feature sister Britney.
The just-released trailer opens up with voiceovers explaining her shocking pregnancy at the age of 16, as she relives the moment she found out she was expecting. "I look back now, I'm like, 'Oh my gosh,'" she explains through tears.
"Jamie Lynn was, she was bad," her dad adds. "It was a bad three years."
Her pregnancy coincided with her sister's breakdown ... so yeah, it couldn't have been easy.
"I want to do something that I'm gonna be proud of," the now-25 year old says of trying to launch a new career. "I'm not just a child star and I'm not just someone's sister. I'm not just a teen mom. For the first time, this is the real story."
