Kristen Stewart, Miley Cyrus and Katharine McPhee Among Stars Exposed in New Hollywood Nude Photo Leak

The website posted several graphic naked selfies and photos of the aforementioned A-listers as well as golf star Tiger Woods and Olympian Lindsey Vonn. Lawyers representing some of the celebrities have already vowed to destroy anyone who posts or distributes the stolen photographs.

Hacking celebrities private information such as naked videos and photos is unfortunately not a new crime. Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Kirsten Dunst were among victims in a massive 2014 nude photo leaking scandal. Edward Majerczyk, the 29-year-old Chicago man who stole the illegally accessed photos that were subsequently leaked on the internet, was sentenced earlier this year to nine months in prison and ordered to pay $5,700 in restitution for counseling services of one undisclosed celebrity victim.

Although Majerczyk wasn't accused of distributing the photographs, the charge still could have carried a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

"It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime," victim Jennifer Lawrence told Vanity Fair. "It is a sexual violation. It's disgusting."

"The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. That's why these websites are responsible," she continued. "Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody's mind is to make a profit from it. It's so beyond me. I just can't imagine being that detached from humanity. I can't imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside."
