Leslie Knope of "Parks and Recreation" just took aim at the NRA.
The National Rifle Association came under fire from the cast and crew of the former NBC sitcom on Wednesday night, after the organization tweeted out a thank you message to spokesperson Dana Loesch using a GIF of Amy Poehler's character, Knope.

The organization sent it out after Loesch appeared on CNN's town hall to talk gun reform following the massacre of 17 people at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
The tweet quickly caught the attention of "Parks and Rec" co-creator Michael Schur, who tweeted out his anger at the NRA using their show to "promote your pro-slaughter agenda." He also added a text message Poehler -- who doesn't have Twitter -- allegedly sent him about the matter.
Hi, please take this down. I would prefer you not use a GIF from a show I worked on to promote your pro-slaughter agenda.

Also, Amy isn't on twitter, but she texted me a message: "Can you tweet the NRA for me and tell them I said fuck off?" https://t.co/YXSdzCdvdd

.@NRA @DLoesch our good-hearted show and especially our Leslie Knope represent the opposite of your pro-slaughter agenda - take it down and also please eat shit. 🇺🇸 https://t.co/Ar2YF4yoic
