Nikki Bella's reaction to John Cena's extremely candid "Today" show interview about their breakup is loaded with mixed feelings and confusion.
On Sunday's episode of "Total Bellas," Nikki is caught off guard after watching her former fiancé tell Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb that he had his "heart broken out of nowhere" and that he "still would love to marry Nicole" and have a family with her.
Nikki and Brie Bella Get Burned on 'Drop the Mic': 'Too Bad Only One of You Could Freeload Off John Cena'
View Story"It's kind of confusing right now watching John's interview on the 'Today' show because, last we talked, that pretty much was it. Like, if I wanna be a mom, there's no John," Nikki says in the preview clip below.
In a conversation with her twin sister, Brie Bella, Nikki says, "I mean, it says we haven't jumped ship yet. I don't know what that means, but I also need to know where I stand."
"I just think in that interview, John could have [gone] two different ways," Brie replies. "He could've said, 'You know, this was a beautiful relationship. I learned a lot, but we're going our separate ways,' or he could say what he did say."
Nikki says it was "weird" to see John talking so openly about their relationship on television after "not seeing him or talking to him."
"You can see in his face that it was hard that that was brought up," Brie says.
"It's hard for me, too," Nikki tells her sister. "I see why you're supposed to get married in the beginning of a relationship. I've been with John for almost 6 years, and it's already been a lot of work. It's just different because I've never had that piece of paper."

"Ugh, it's just so hard. I just wanna be a mom," Nikki says as she lets out a sigh.
Nikki Bella, John Cena Call Off Wedding and Suffer Emotional Fallout on Heartbreaking 'Total Bellas'
View StoryJohn and Nikki called off their wedding and relationship this past April in a joint statement they shared on Instagram, but John certainly made it sound like it was Nikki's decision to split in his "Today" show interview last month.
"It's up and it's down. I've always been honest with you guys, but I also don't want to ruin your viewers' morning by giving a bowl of sadness soup," the WWE superstar and actor said. "It's been incredibly reflective, which is amazing, but it is very difficult. I had my heart broken out of nowhere -- or for me, it was out of nowhere. And anyone who has experienced that knows that it comes with a series of bad feelings."
"For anyone out there speculating on what I am doing with my life now, I still love Nicole. I still would love to marry Nicole. I still would love to have a family with Nicole," he added. "There was an unfortunate set of circumstances where our relationship ended."
Nikki Bella Admits Another John Cena Relationship Issue: 'I Just Kind of Became a Yes Girl'
View Story"There has been a lot of speculation recently about me being seen in public, and everybody is thinking like, 'Oh, John Cena is enjoying the single life.' No, I was supposed to be married and having a honeymoon over these two weeks. It is the first time in 15 years that I have taken a vacation," Cena said. "I am in my house alone surrounded by these emotionally strong memories, and every day from 6 to 9, I get out of the house and talk to strangers [for] social interaction."
"I don't want anybody else -- I love Nicole. And I'm really trying to support her in finding whatever it is that she wants that made this fall apart in the first place," he said. "I don't have any other hopes other than that maybe one day we can work it out."
