Mark Wahlberg Nearly Had to Strip Down After World Series Bet with A-Rod

Mark Wahlberg is very thankful that he won his World Series bet with Alex Rodriguez, telling Ellen DeGeneres on Monday that he "went way overboard" on his side of it.

After losing, A-Rod had to suit up and work a shift at Mark's restaurant chain Whalburgers, but not just anywhere. "He was doing it at our Fenway Park location," Mark said. "And he really won over a lot of Red Sox fans, which is not an easy thing to do."

Honestly, we think Mark would have been just fine winning over Yankees fans, too, if he'd had to follow through on the very lofty promise he made. We can't help but wonder if there was alcohol involved or just overconfidence on his part, because this was a very bold promise.

"I made the mistake of saying that I would go and perform 'Good Vibrations' in my underwear at Yankee Stadium," Mark told Ellen, referencing his breakout hip-hop hit from the 1990s. "Thankfully, I don't have to deliver on that bet."

Based on the audience reaction, Mark may be the only one thankful. Plus, it's not like it would be the first time Mark has been seen publicly in his underwear. After his breakthrough hit, he quickly signed a deal with Calvin Klein and started modeling underwear.

Plus, we've seen how stringent he is with his exercise regiment and the incredible physique he's been able to maintain throughout his career. That six-pack is intact and working hard.

So, while he was super-excited that his team did win the World Series, it seems as if all of America lost ... at least a little bit.

Well, as they say in sports, there's always next year.
