"They put me as the greeter, and I just did everything I was supposed to do," Adams recalls of her days before fame.
Long before Amy Adams was a dedicated actress, she was a dedicated Gap employee -- so dedicated, in fact, that she one time got on Whitney Houston's last nerve.
The Golden Globe-winning actress stopped by "The Late Late Show" Wednesday night, where she told host James Corden and fellow guest Tyler Perry all about the memorable experience.

View Story"I was probably really annoying," Adams confessed. "They put me as the greeter, and I just did everything I was supposed to do, even if I didn't want to." Adams even remembers the acronym for properly greeting costumers.
"There's something called the GAP ACT," she explained, "where you have to 'greet,' 'approach,' 'product information,' 'add on clothes,' 'thank.'"
"Didn't Whitney Houston come into The Gap when you were there?" Corden asked. Adams said yes, adding, "I was like, 'Gotta GAP ACT her!'"
After reenacting the peppy greeting she gave Houston, Adams said the late singer "went back into the dressing room and requested anybody else. It's true! Anybody else. Which made me laugh because I agreed that I was annoying, but I couldn't stop doing my job!"
Adams also worked as a Hooters girl and said she had a more pleasant run-in with another huge star.

"And so all of the girls rushed him. And I felt really bad for telling, and I think he could tell that I felt bad, so when I rushed him, he actually gave me a kiss on the cheek. I was like, 'I'm never gonna wash my cheek again!' He was very sweet."
Later on, Adams and Perry had a ball teaching Corden all about "Skinemax." Watch that conversation in the video below.
