"Just don't ask me if Erika's tucking it under because there are some things I can't lie about!" Vanderpump said.

Lisa issued a statement regarding her comments toward Erika on Tuesday afternoon.
"It was not my intention to belittle the trans community with my poor choice of words directed toward Erika," she told Entertainment Tonight. "With recent news of trans women losing their lives for living their authentic truth in a world of discrimination and hate, I never want to diminish the very real pain and struggle that trans people go through every day."

Lisa Vanderpump's long been an ally of the LGBTQ+ community, but her transphobic joke about Erika Jayne has her "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" co-stars, fellow celebrities and fans up in arms.
Many people called LVP out for her inappropriate comment -- which involved a "tucking it under" jibe directed at Erika during Tuesday's episode of "RHOBH" -- and pointed out how just because she's a supporter doesn't give her free license to make phobic remarks.
'RHOBH' Recap: Lisa Vanderpump Accuses Dorit of Having a New Face and Erika of 'Tucking' During Lie-Detector Test
View StoryHere's how it all started:
Lisa took it upon herself to take a lie-detector test to prove her innocence against claims she leaked a story about Dorit Kemsley and (formerly) Lucy Lucy Apple Juice to Radar Online.
Her trusty Vanderpump Dogs director, John Sessa, accompanied her. He's also the one who sent the questions to the polygraph administrator, including this one: "Do you think Dorit's face has changed in the last year as much as her accent?"
"She's had a head transplant," Lisa replied with a chuckle before a shot of her in a confessional took over the screen. "Just don't ask me if Erika's tucking it under, or something like that, because there are some things I can't lie about!"
Moments later, Twitter erupted.

View StoryTransgender actress Candis Cayne was among the first to drag the restaurant mogul. Sharing the very clip from the show, she urged Lisa to "do better."
"Ugly trans jokes marginalizing our community are not acceptable," she wrote. "Being an ally doesn't give you a free pass to make transphobic remarks."
Not only did Erika retweet Candis' post, but she also liked a plethora of tweets that echoed the same sentiment.
Lisa Rinna also felt the comment was a "low blow," tweeting, "Who knew LVP was transphobic? Well, we know NOW!" She also retweeted a message that read, "Oof. Making transphobic jokes is sooooo not cool, even if you are someone who does a lot for the LGBTQ+ community. Know better. Be better."

@NineDaves
Wow - @LisaVanderpump with the transphobic joke about @erikajayne. Such an ally 🙄 #rhoa
@CuthbertLangley
Lisa Vanderpump's joke about trans identity was disgusting. I've said this MANY times, but her giving the cast of #PumpRules a pass with the way they treated Billie Lee proves she only supports CIS gay white men like her pal Lance Bass. #RHOBH
@ETKevinsMind
I genuinely want @LisaVanderpump to explain to me how her “joke” about @erikajayne “tucking” was funny. Really I do. What's the punchline? See if you can think of a way to explain it without admitting you're saying it'd be embarrassing for her to be trans or a drag queen.
@sassyganglish
WOW @LisaVanderpump..... 😱 The “joke” you made in reference to @erikajayne on #RHOBH was in very poor taste not only to her but to the trans community. It wasn't funny! Period. You should know better LVP! @BravoTV
@JerlandBarnett
@LisaVanderpump Cute anti-Trans comment, Lisa. Way to really support the community! Disgusting!
