Many people were fired up over Grande's "joke" and blasted the singer on Twitter.
Ariana Grande has apologized for making a joke about JonBenet Ramsey.
The singer came under fire Sunday night after she wrote a controversial comment on an Instagram post from her friend Doug Middlebrook. The post in question was of a magazine cover that featured the pageant queen, who was brutally murdered at the age of six in 1996.
"No one has done more covers," Middlebrook captioned the since-deleted post. Grande then commented, "I can't WAIT for this to be your Halloween look."

Ariana Grande Was 'So Drunk' in the Studio for 'Thank U, Next' She Can't Remember Recording It
View StoryAlthough the "Thank U, Next" singer quickly removed her comment, it was first snapped and posted by a Twitter user. And many people, even Arianators, did not find Grande's comment humorous in the slightest.
Following the backlash, Grande responded by tweeting an apology. "yeah no i deleted it very quickly and understand that it's not at all funny," she said. "this was out of pocket and i sincerely apologize."
The Grammy winner elaborated on her apology further in a now-deleted tweet, where she thanked her fans for calling her out on the inappropriate joke.
"love u. f--k. i appreciate you," she tweeted in a reply to two fans, according to BuzzFeed. "sorry i'm so f--ked up. dark jokes are a coping mechanism for me and yet i hate when other people make them. thank y'all for being real & always helping me learn. i'm so happy i have a fanbase who's not afraid to call me out on my shit. love u."
Although she later apologized, many people were fired up about Grande's "joke" and blasted the singer on Twitter.
"Ariana is a 26 year old woman who we would think would be mature," a person tweeted, adding "but instead had the audacity to go under Doug's post about JonBenet Ramsey and proceeds to type 'i cant WAIT for this to be your halloween costume.' and she put a motherfucking heart to it too..."
Another pointed out, "But that's the thing, Ariana Grande always says something wrong and then she apologizes and everyone forget about it. That's f--king unfair, why is she so privileged? Everyone knows that the Jon Benet's case is NOT funny, she's 26. She's pushing 30. Like hello? "
"guys is that comment that ariana made real?" another asked. "bc if it is that's low key disgusting"
