Russian Instagram Influencer Found In a Suitcase Stabbed To Death

On Friday, Russian Instagram influencer Ekaterina Karaglanova was found dead in her Moscow apartment from a brutal stabbing.

After not hearing from their daughter for days, Karaglanova's parents became concerned and requested access to her apartment from the landlord.

They discovered Karaglanova's body stuffed in a suitcase with stab wounds to her throat and chest. Paramedics were called to the scene, but she had already died from her injuries, according to Moscow newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets. Responding investigators report there was no sign of struggle or a murder weapon in the apartment.

Police reviewed CCTV, which showed a former boyfriend had visited Karaglanova's apartment around the same time she reportedly stopped communicating with friends and family. However, police did not say whether this was being investigated further, the BBC reports.

The 24-year old former Miss Moscow was a recent medical student graduate specializing in dermatology, and had an impressive Instagram following in the tens of thousands. At the time of her death, she was looking forward to a trip to the Netherlands with her new boyfriend and family to celebrate her 25th birthday on July 30th.
