The "America's Next Top Model" creator feels sorry for people who attack others over their age because clearly aging "is going to be traumatic" for them.
Count supermodel Tyra Banks among those who have Bebe Rexha's back after the singer called out an industry executive for allegedly coming down on her for being too sexy at 29 years old.
As a model and 45-year-old woman in the entertainment industry, it's safe to assume that Banks has experienced plenty of ageism throughout her career as she has continued to own her femininity, her sexuality and her beauty with each passing year.
Bebe Rexha, 29, Claims Music Exec Said She's 'Too Old' For Sexy Instagram Photos
View Story"When we hear things, it hurts," Banks admitted to Access Hollywood of comments like what Rexha says she was told. "But I say acknowledge it and then throw it out, and realize the person who said that is hurting inside."
The "America's Next Top Model" creator went on to elaborate how she thinks people with such attitudes are projecting their own insecurities, which in a way leaves her sympathizing with the perpetrator.
"I actually really feel for that person that is being very ageist and is saying something very negative because when age starts to hit them, it is going to be traumatic," Banks continued. "What they're doing is they're throwing that negativity that they feel about their fears about aging onto you."
As for Rexha herself, who countered the comments with one of her sexiest Instagram posts yet, Banks gushed about how gorgeous she still looks even as she approaches the geriatric age of ... 30?!

The 29-year-old singer-songwriter took to Instagram on Monday to post a black-and-white mirror selfie showing her in a black bra and matching underwear. Her lengthy caption explained the inspiration behind the shot and her intention to not let our youth-obsessed world dictate how she lives her life.
"I recently had a MALE music executive tell me that I was getting too old and that my brand was 'confusing' because I'm a songwriter and I post sexy pics on my Instagram and that's not what female songwriters are suppose to do, especially for my age," she explained. "I'm 29."

"I'm turning 30 on August 30 and you know what, I'm not running away from it," Bebe added, noting that she intends to keep true to who she is in every aspect of her life. "I'm not gonna lie about my age or sing songs that I feel will sell better because they sound 'younger.'"
"I'm gonna celebrate my age because you know what, I'm wiser, I'm stronger and TRUST ME I'm a much better lover than I was 10 years ago," the musician concluded.
