The Fugees founder talks about closing out the VMAs with Queen Latifah, Fetty Wap, Redman and Naughty by Nature!
Wyclef Jean says it's the "coolest thing" to take his daughter to the 2019 MTV VMAs -- even if she may not realize how famous her dad really is.
While speaking with TooFab on the red carpet, the hip-hop and R&B legend shared his excitement over bringing 14-year-old daughter, Angelina, to her very first MTV Video Music Awards.
"When I told my daughter, 'Yo, we're going to the VMAs,' She was trippin' for me," Wyclef said. "To be able to come to the VMAs with your daughter is like the coolest thing."
According to Wyclef, DJ Khaled came over and said to Angelina, "You know who this guy is?" However, she just brushed it off and said, "Yeah, but I see him every day."
"I am not the star in that house," the rapper joked.

View StoryWyclef closed the show as a part of the epic New Jersey hip-hop medley performance, which also featured Queen Latifah, Redman, Fetty Wap and Naughty by Nature. The Fugees founder performed the hip-hop group's hit "No Woman, No Cry" as well as his popular solo classic, "Gone Til November."
"For us, Jersey hip-hop has been so influential," he said of the performance. "Naughty by Nature -- so when you hear like Eminem, and he tells you how Treach, he used to listen to Treach flow."
Wyclef continued, "Queen Latifah -- who out of the very gate was like, 'Do not f--k with us females, like we are bosses.'"
He added, "Redman -- one of the craziest lyrical guys to ever come, Fetty with the nuance...we're gonna rock!"
And they definitely killed it on the stage! See the awesome performance, below.
