The reality star opens up about "a really unfortunate accident," as his girlfriend gives new details about what happened.
"The Challenge" and "Love Island UK" contestant Theo Campbell suffered a freak accident while popping bottles in Ibiza, Spain.
Campbell, who appeared on "War of the Worlds" and will star on the upcoming "War of the Worlds 2," broke the news on his Instagram page on Tuesday, before his girlfriend Kaz Crossley went into more detail on her Stories early Wednesday morning.
On both social media pages, the two said Campbell has gone blind in one eye thanks to a rogue champagne cork.

"So yeah basically 2 eye surgeries later after a really unfortunate accident, I've lost all vision in my right eye as it got split in half, who would have thought a champagne cork would be the end of me.."
"But I still have 1 eye left, looking at the bright side of things," he continued. "Thanks for flying out to look after me as well babe ♥️♥️♥️ if anyone knows where sells cool eye patches let me know :)"
Then, referencing other famous figures with only one eye, he added the hashtags #captinhook, #thor and #fettywap.
This morning, he took to Twitter to say he got 7 stitches in his eye and claimed doctors told him "it's unlikely I'll see properly again." He added, "They done a good job saving it as they said I might loose my whole eye to begin with. But Im hopeful and don't want to believe my eye is gone forever. Anything is possible."
Six-Year-Old Killed After Getting Struck By Her Own Father's Golf Ball
View StoryAlso on Wednesday, Crossley posted a series of Instagram Stories with Campbell, sharing more details about what happened as the two answered questions from fans.
"Champagne got in Theo's eye, he took his glasses off and he put his head down and there was basically someone that popped a champagne bottle directly under his face," she explained. "Unfortunately, the cork went literally right in his eye."
"He's been here since Sunday and we just saw the doctors again and they said he will be at least another two days, we need to wait for the antibiotics to work," she added. "It was really serious. When it happened the eye was basically opened and it was like a big gash down the middle, which is why he had to go to surgery, he had to get stitches."
When asked if he'd be blind "forever," Campbell said, "I always preach about being patient and having hope. I think the body, especially my body, can heal from anything. I'm gonna get some vitamins." Crossley added, "It's too soon to tell."
She added that while Campbell doesn't know who popped the cork that took out his eye, he "knows it was an accident and holds no hate" to whoever did it. "He's not that kind of person," she added.
