The TV sitcom reboot demand looks like it's as popular as ever.
"Saved by the Bell" and "Punky Brewster" were given the green light for revivals on NBCUniversal's upcoming Peacock streaming service on Tuesday, according to Deadline.
Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley will reprise their "Saved by the Bell" roles as AC Slater and Jessie Spano respectively with Soleil Moon Frye returning as the titular role of Punky Brewster.

The new "Saved by the Bell" comedy will be headed by "30 Rock" writer and "Great News" series creator Tracey Wigfield. It will explore what happens when California Governor Zac Morris proposes students from low-income schools be sent to wealthier schools, including his alma mater Bayside High.
The original sitcom ran Saturday mornings on NBC from 1989 to 1993 and included Dustin Diamond (Screech), Tiffani-Amber Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski) and Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle) as cast members. The show was a massive hit with a spin-off "Saved by the Bell: The College Years" running for one season beginning in 1993.

View StoryMeanwhile, the "Punky Brewster" re-imagining will focus on Frye as a single mother-of-three who "meets a young girl who reminds her a lot of her younger self". The original series, which saw orphan Brewster being raised by a foster father, ran for four seasons from 1984-1988, two on NBC and two in syndication.
The Peacock service will launch in April 2020 and include a reboot of "Battlestar: Galactica" from "Mr. Robot" creator Sam Esmail as well as original programming.
The news comes as rumors of a "Family Matters" reboot is in the works as well.
