Leah Remini not only left behind the religion when she decided to leave Scientology, she also broke ties with a lot of friends.
The current "Dancing with the Stars" contestant opens up about her choice to exit the controversial group on Monday's episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" -- revealing why she left and how her decision has affected her life.
Watch the video above to see her reason for leaving.
"We've lost friends that can no longer talk to us who are still in the organization," she tells Ellen of the aftermath. "These are friends that we've had for dozens of years."
It doesn't sound like she regrets her family's decision though -- adding that "our family is stronger, we're together and that's all I could ask for."
