Swifties and Arianators are furious while Lady Gaga and Shawn Mendes fans are overjoyed.
Twitter had much to discuss after the nominations for the 61st Grammy Awards were announced Friday morning.
If you click on the #Grammys hashtag on Twitter, odds are most of your feed will be flooded with BTS fans celebrating the K-Pop bands first nomination. Despite only getting nominated for one award -- Best Recording Package -- the dedicated groupies went crazy on social media to congratulate their beloved boy band group.
On the other side of the gratitude spectrum, Taylor Swift fans were angry as F as the "Delicate" singer wasn't recognized in any of the major categories and is only up for Best Pop Vocal Album. The Swifties went off on Twitter, bashing the Recording Academy for not giving her latest album "Reputation" more love.
Arianators and the Beyhive had similar frustrations as Ariana Grande's "Sweetener" and The Carters "Everything Is Love" were also shut out of the major categories. Grande was only recognized for Best Solo Pop Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album, while Beyonce and Jay-Z are nominated for three awards: Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best Music Video and Best R&B Performance. As a result of the Carters' nomination, Beyonce is now the most-nominated female in Grammy history.
On a more joyous note, Shawn Mendes stans were thrilled as the pop singer was nominated for his first two Grammys: Song of the Year for "In My Blood" and Best Pop Vocal Album. Fans of "A Star Is Born" were also stoked as Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's hit "Shallow," which was just nominated yesterday for the 2019 Golden Globes, is up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group performance. Gaga is also being recognized for her album "Joanne."
Like Gaga, rapper Cardi B received five Grammy nominations, including Record and Album of the Year. But people are divided over Cardi's nominations, with some claiming the "Bodak Yellow" singer isn't worthy of music's most coveted award.
People on Twitter also mourned the death of Mac Miller, who passed away in September after an apparent drug overdose. The rapper was posthumously nominated Friday morning for two Grammys, including Best Rap Album.

— Nicholas Liddle (@NLiddle16) December 7, 2018
It's a shame Mac Miller couldn't be here to witness his first ever GRAMMY nomination. Years of hardwork, building, & success. Hadn't even reached his peak yet. Glad his album was considered, because 'SWIMMING' is fantastic.
— Meelz 💪🏾 (@MeelzTV) December 7, 2018
today is 3 months since Mac Miller left this world. i just saw he was nominated for his first Grammy with one of the best pieces of work he has ever released. life works in mysterious ways. i’ll never understand why he had to leave so soon and couldn’t be here today to celebrate pic.twitter.com/yq40wN2CFu

The #Grammys Rap categories are a MESS.
— baddie kay🖤 (@dracogirlk) December 7, 2018
NO Lil Wayne, NO J Cole, NO Nicki Minaj, NO Eminem, NO Nas, NO Jay Rock, NO Anime, NO Kanye X Cudi, and NO Jay Z X Bey
but... Cardi B and Post Malone 🤨
Cardi B got nominated for Rap album of the Year for a album she didn’t write, an album she couldn’t even stay on key on but meanwhile Lil Wayne’s, J Coles, Nicki Minaj’s, and both Eminem’s albums didn’t get nominated. LET THAT SINK IN.

Every last one of them was deserved. Her debut album era was impeccably marketed, & whether or not YOU think she’s a great emcee, the ALBUM & the MUSIC was Great. Evident in her huge successes.
