Actor Chris Evans is the next American hero -- because he'll be playing Captain America.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Evans has accepted Marvel's offer -- and all he's gotta do now is sign on the dotted line.
FYI -- This is Chris' second foray into the Marvel universe. He already played The Human Torch in the "Fantastic Four" flicks.
