UPDATE: TLC has officially announced it will air the eight-part series.
Sarah Palin now has the Discovery Communcations in her clutches and will host a new reality show.
According to Variety, "Sarah Palin's Alaska" will "center on interesting characters, traditions and attractions in the 49th state" ... all without the use of CGI.
A Discovery source confirmed the show to PEOPLE -- but nobody is going on the record about the project just yet.
The show was reportedly purchased for $1 million an episode.
