Tom Cruise knows when to stand to the side.
After spending the day with daughter Suri at an indoor playground at Chelsea Piers, Tom joined wife Katie Holmes at the premiere of "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" -- but didn't walk the red carpet with her.
Maybe he didn't want to take the attention away from Katie's movie, which opens August 26.
The two were seen hand-in-hand leaving the event though, where both took time to pose for photos with a crazy amount fans.
