"Welcome to The O.C., bitch!"
Hard to believe, but it's been exactly 10 years since Luke (Chris Carmack) uttered that famous line to Ryan (Benjamie McKenzie) during the series premiere of "The O.C."
The show would become a massive hit for Fox, thanks largely in part to its summer debut ... something that was almost unheard of at the time.
The series helped launch the careers of its stars, including Ben, Mischa Barton, Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody, who all had little acting experience before the teenage soap.
In a new interview today with HitFix, show creator Josh Schwartz revealed that Garrett Hedlund was originally supposed to play Ryan -- but left so he could appear in "Troy." And Olivia Wilde was thisclose to being cast as Marisa Cooper.
Can you imagine what it would have been like with that casting?
While the show only lasted four seasons, "The O.C." covered everything from cage fighting to fleeting lesbianism -- and it's pretty crazy what some of the stars have been up to since it went off the air in 2007.
While stars like McKenzie and Bilson have found success on other shows, some of their costars haven't been as lucky.
