Carolina Herrera is not a fan of the "almost naked" dress trend.
The veteran fashion designer, who is know for her ladylike pieces and gorgeous gowns, is getting candid about the "nearly naked" dresses that have become a favorite among Hollywood's fashionistas!
In a recent interview with the Washington Post, the 76-year-old references the Met Gala to make her point -- where Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez all wore sheer looks!
"Some designers think 'It's so modern to be naked or almost naked'. They think it's going to attract younger people if they do those dresses. No!" Herrera exclaimed. "The almost naked! Oh God! They're trying to get people to pay attention to them. In life, there should be a little mystery."
The three ladies certainly drew tons of attention in their body baring designs at the high-fashion event. The trend has only continued, especially for the "Booty" singer, who frequently goes the sheer route on the carpet.
"They're supposed to be fashion icons and they're not wearing anything," the designer says, exasperated. "It's an obsession now."
"For me, fashion is about originality, sophistication and beauty," she says. "I'm not in the fashion business; I'm in the beauty business. You can't always please the press. That's for your ego."
